Fractional Development Focused CTO (Remote Global)

Role Description: We are seeking a strategic, AI-savvy Fractional CTO to advise on the formation and development of a new global development team. This position will be central to setting up a secondary team in the Philippines, supporting the transition from a ColdFusion legacy system to a modern, AI-integrated tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and advise on the structure of a new development team including developers and a project manager.
• Ensure the team leverages AI tools and methodologies in both development and solution design.
• Define roles, team composition, qualifications, and evaluate potential hires.
• Oversee and implement best practices for knowledge sharing, agile methodologies, and team scalability.
• Support the modernization of systems from ColdFusion to React, Node.js, and AWS, while also driving net-new feature development.
• Establish and reinforce coding discipline, agile practices, and long-term success planning.
• Provide recruitment guidance and evaluate developer candidate capabilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success in setting up and managing global development teams.
• Strong working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools and practices.
• Hands-on experience with React, Node.js, SQL, MongoDB, and AWS.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development.
• Prior experience evaluating technical talent and building cohesive teams.
• Experience in transitioning legacy platforms to modern stacks; ColdFusion experience is a plus.
• Excellent English communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
