Freelance Site Manager – Main Contractor (Modular Build Projects)

Location: Wendover, Buckinghamshire / Nationwide (UK) – Travel & Lodging Required

Rate: £240-£250 Per Day CIS Umbrella (Negotiable when lodging)

Our client is a well‑established main contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial, hospitality, and retail design & build projects scheduled across the UK. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join their delivery team on upcoming schemes.

The initial project will be based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire with further projects in the pipeline nationally and so the candidate will be happy to travel and lodge where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations on new‑build modular projects.
• Manage subcontractors, labour, materials and logistics to ensure smooth and safe site delivery.
• Maintain quality control and ensure works are completed to specification and programme.
• Coordinate with the project team, client representatives and other stakeholders.
• Uphold high standards of health & safety, ensuring full compliance with site procedures.
• Manage site reporting, including daily records, progress updates and RAMS reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black / White), and First Aid certifications.
• Experience with groundworks packages and modular builds.
• Willingness to travel nationally and lodge away when required.
