Summary

Nectar Works is seeking a highly skilled Front-End Developer to join our growing software development team. We’re looking for someone who brings deep technical expertise and a passion for building high-quality, performant, and maintainable software. You’ll be working in a collaborative, agile environment with a strong focus on clean architecture, scalability, and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a dynamic, skilful, and enthusiastic Front-End Developer. Our front-end technology stack includes:

  • Next.js and React
  • SCSS/SASS/LESS
  • HTML5
  • TypeScript

We currently deploy via Vercel and may migrate to AWS or Google Cloud as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain dynamic, responsive front-end interfaces using Next.js, ensuring code is maintainable, extensible, robust, and performant
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and back-end developers to translate mockups, wireframes, and APIs into high-quality code for a seamless user experience
  • Optimize front-end code for performance and scalability, develop reusable components, and maintain style guides for consistency
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and project meetings to maintain high-quality standards
  • Stay up-to-date with front-end trends, propose performance and maintainability improvements, and functionally test developed code
  • Follow internal coding and documentation standards, contribute to SDLC improvements, and participate in Scrum events
  • Collaborate across departments and mentor team members to foster knowledge sharing

Essential requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK or Republic of Ireland
  • Access to high-speed broadband for remote work
  • At least 10 years of software development experience, with 5+ years on front-end using Next.js, React and CSS preprocessors
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, SCSS/SASS/LESS, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Proficient in Git
  • Experience in Agile environments and adapting to fast-paced workflows
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to backend development via Web APIs and SQL databases
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or MS/Azure DevOps
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

Desirable requirements

  • Experience with Node.js for API integration
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology or dApp development
  • Experience with performance testing tools
  • Understanding of Scrum in software development
