Full Stack Lead Engineer

New Today

We’re a fast-growing SaaS company transforming the way universities and students connect worldwide. Our platform is already changing the game in international student recruitment, and now we’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic technology team and help shape the future of our platform.

In return you'll get a key role in shaping the future of a fast-growing, mission-driven EdTech platform, the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly improve global student experiences, a collaborative, innovative environment where you can thrive and grow and access to modern tools, technologies, and a supportive leadership team.

What you’ll be doing

As a Full Stack Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance applications across both frontend and backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features that create exceptional user experiences. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. You’ll also be expected to actively explore, evaluate, and adopt the latest Generative AI tools and practices to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and accelerate development across the engineering team.

Here’s what that looks like in practice

  • Lead full stack development using ReactJS, TypeScript, Node.js, and related technologies.
  • Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure APIs and web applications.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Own and maintain key features across both frontend and backend layers.
  • Drive and enforce coding standards, best practices, and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
  • Contribute to DevOps processes (CI/CD, monitoring, infrastructure) and help optimize development pipelines.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and influence the future direction of the platform.
  • Investigate and adopt new technologies (e.g. WASM, serverless patterns) to continually improve the platform.

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of professional experience in software development with a strong background in both frontend and backend.
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript, ReactJS, Node.js, and RESTful API development.
  • Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native development.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
  • Proficient in AWS cloud services – especially Lambda, SQS, S3, Cognito, API Gateway, EventBridge, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with frontend tooling such as Vite, ESLint, CSS-in-JS, and testing frameworks like Jest or Cypress.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide teams through technical decisions.
  • A passion for quality, performance, and security.

Desirable additional experience includes server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js or Remix, familiarity with AWS CDK or Infrastructure as Code practices, and interest or experience in WASM or other emerging frontend optimisation technologies. Prior experience mentoring teams or leading cross-functional projects would be a bonus.

Our products and services

CAS Shield is a 100% proprietary tool that automates the onboarding and arrival process for universities, their students and agents. The platform handles the repetitive and fatiguing tasks faced by university staff. This includes information and document requests, analysis of data/documents, screening for non-genuine students, and flagging at-risk students for intervention. The result is that university staff have more time for the qualitative aspect of student recruitment: providing human-to-human support to students.

Our data solutions offer universities ground-breaking real-time business reporting for the first time.

Our Services & Compliance Division provides our platform clients access to outsourced services provided by industry-leading consultants using Enroly technology.
