Life Unlimited.
At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living!
We are looking for someone ready to take ownership of a global category that plays a key role in improving patient outcomes.
In this role, you'll own the strategy and supplier relationships for our Advanced Wound Devices Finished Goods, collaborating across teams to drive innovation, ensure quality, and deliver value. If you enjoy cross-functional collaboration, navigating complexity, and making things happen, this could be a great fit.
What will you be doing?
You'll lead the management of our Advanced Wound Devices Finished Goods category, shaping and executing the category strategy, working closely with suppliers, and coordinating across teams to ensure smooth operations—from sourcing and supplier performance to supporting contract manufacturing.
You will be the primary contact for supplier decisions, contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you'll identify cost-saving opportunities, drive continuous improvement, and stay ahead of industry trends. This is a hands-on, global role where your ideas and actions will make a significant impact.
What does success look like?
Success means becoming a trusted expert and strategic partner within the business. You will be recognized for building strong supplier relationships, making informed sourcing decisions, and supporting activities like new product launches, supplier performance improvements, and cost efficiencies.
You will proactively identify risks and opportunities, confidently navigate complex contracts, and work across functions to achieve goals. If ownership, collaboration, and measurable impact excite you, you'll thrive here.
Successful candidates will need the following:
- Proven procurement experience, ideally 5-7 years, in a regulated, matrixed environment with established governance processes.
- A background in plastics manufacturing, particularly with injection moulding suppliers.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
