What You’ll Do

As a Global IT Program Management Director, you will lead the orchestration of large-scale, high-impact, cross-functional programs across BCG’s IT and platform engineering ecosystem. You will translate high-level strategy into executable roadmaps and ensure consistent, outcome-driven delivery across portfolios. This role is critical in scaling platform engineering and managing complexity at an enterprise level.

  • Lead and orchestrate complex, cross-functional programs
  • Own end-to-end lifecycle of large, strategic programs involving multiple domains, platforms, and functions
  • Establish governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and execution models
  • Define clear outcomes and align cross-functional teams around them
  • Drive transparency, accountability, and leadership-facing visibility through structured reporting
  • Drive platform vendor management, manage MSP relationships, and ensure alignment with delivery leadership (over 300+ vendors)
  • Coach sourcing strategies with Procurement and Platform leadership to strengthen governance, reduce risk, improve delivery models, unlock cost savings, and improve operational efficiency
  • Oversee vendor lifecycle from demand forecasting to performance management
  • Lead budgeting, financial analysis, and value realization from vendor investments; monitor SLA/MSA compliance and provide leadership insights
  • Refine sourcing practices and vendor management processes; contribute to cross-functional IT VMO capability improvements
  • Operationalize strategic visions into structured program delivery roadmaps with milestones, KPIs, and risk mitigations
  • Anticipate and mitigate blockers across domains and dependencies; manage interdependencies and cross-program risks
  • Lead program-level cadences and drive consistent progress across squads and functions
  • Navigate legacy constraints and competing priorities; coordinate execution across TMO, engineering, product, and other domains
  • Enable delivery teams by owning communication, stakeholder engagement, and orchestration
  • Identify and manage resource gaps, role clarity issues, and team dependencies
  • Build a repeatable framework for cross-portfolio large program management within platform engineering
  • Embed programmatic excellence, business agility, and delivery discipline; promote a culture of accountability and high performance
  • Regularly evaluate and improve program delivery frameworks, tooling, and ways of working

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree or MBA a strong plus
  • 12+ years of experience in IT program management, digital transformation, or technology delivery
  • Proven experience managing high-value programs across global organizations
  • Strong understanding of agile principles and ways of working (scrum and Kanban)
  • Strong understanding of technology-enabled business, digital and organizational transformations, delivering enterprise IT and digital services
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint or similar
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills

Compensation and Benefits

Total compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contributions, and a comprehensive benefits package. The base salary range for this role in Boston is $160,000.00 – $193,333.33. A bonus of up to 30% and a generous retirement contribution start at 5% and move to 10% after 2 years. All plans provide access to comprehensive health, dental, vision, and other benefits, as described below.
