Global Operations Director - Pharma Events at BCD Meetings & Events (BCD M&E). We are seeking a Global Operations Director within our Meetings Management Life Sciences division, leading a client-dedicated global operations team for one of our key pharmaceutical clients. You will have expertise in end-to-end event delivery across a multitude of event formats and client industry sectors within the UK and overseas, primarily pharmaceutical.

The Role

We are looking for a Global Operations Director within our Meetings Management Life Sciences division leading a client dedicated global operations team for one of our key pharmaceutical clients. You will thrive on delivering, collaborating across teams and departments, supporting and mentoring team members to exceed client expectations. You will engage stakeholders, optimise processes and ensure effective delivery across multiple countries with a solutions-focused mindset.

As An Global Operations Director, You Will

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team – including line management of team managers
  • Resource to implement a specific process change or added service
  • Support Standard Operating Procedure Development and Redesign
  • Work in partnership across the business in supporting new business RFPs, pitches, presentations, operation plans
  • Ownership and day-to-day responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of event projects assigned to your teams ensuring all internal/external KPIs and SLAs are achieved
  • Collaborate with peers in resource planning including project allocation, training and development of the wider team
  • Support recruitment for new team members as required
  • Ensure seamless service delivery and quality across multiple operational centres

You’re Good At

  • Communication – listening, written and verbal; able to translate client objectives into all aspects of the event and across the team
  • Getting it done – identify gaps, propose solutions, drive action, ensure execution and review
  • Previous mentoring and/or line management experience
  • Instilling client confidence that we are experts in our field
  • Proven end-to-end UK and overseas event delivery experience including large-scale/complex in-person and hybrid events across sectors
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance relating to meetings & events
  • Proven meeting technology and delegate registration knowledge; Cvent is advantageous
  • Attention to detail and budgeting management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to react, think on your feet, offer solutions, and manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Ability to travel in the UK and overseas

You Might Also Have

  • Experience delivering pharmaceutical events is advantageous
  • Virtual meeting platform and event mobile app experience
  • Event Management degree

You Should Know

  • Role is UK remote-based; you may be required to visit offices for team/company meetings
  • Core business hours are 09:00–17:30; flexible to accommodate time zones for a global operational team
  • Some travel may be required in this role
  • You must have the right to work in the UK or US

Salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US is between $80,000 - $110,000. Actual pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and project budget.
