As one of our Governance Partners, you'll play a supporting role alongside the Head of Governance and other Partners. The team support our Non-Executive Directors, Executive Board and other governing body members to fulfil their duties. Working with a control framework assurance is given to the Boards on the robustness of Aster's services, supporting the delivery of our business strategy. The team ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements and entity constitutions, maintaining a positive image to our external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Championing compliance with governance arrangements, entity constitutions, terms of reference and forward plans
  • Advising Senior Executives on the practical interpretation of the Group's standing orders (delegation matrix)
  • Providing governance advice to the Boards, Committees, Exec Board and Operational panels and Aster colleagues
  • Providing administration support to NEDs and Independent Members including their recruitment, induction, ongoing training and succession planning

About you

About you

You will come to the role with strong experience and understanding in governance work. You will have worked in a regulatory environment, which could include social housing but is not essential.

You will have excellent attention to detail and be extremely organised.

You will consider yourself to be a people person, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.

This position involves occasional face-to-face meetings, therefore, the ability to work within our operating region* is a must. You will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

*Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
