We are recruiting for Graduate Ecologist roles
We are looking to recruit at least one permanent Graduate Ecologist to join our friendly and welcoming team. Ideally, this permanent contract would be full-time but we are happy to consider reduced / flexible hours or job sharing.

About Us
Ecolocation is the ecological consultancy of GBa&e, a wider multi-disciplinary practice providing development consultancy, architecture, ecological and arboricultural services. Our clients include agents for planning applications, Local Authorities, commercial organisations, private individuals, etc…and the best bit for a local candidate is that most of our work is in the Midlands. We are a small but perfectly formed supportive team and are very keen to offer Continuing Professional Development to our mutual benefit.
The role of a Seasonal Field Surveyor
You will form part of our ecology team gaining valuable experience in UK Hab surveys, bat surveys, great crested newt surveys, as well as reptile surveys and translocation during the survey season and BNG
Some surveys are during unsociable hours and involve late evening and possibly early morning work and provide an opportunity for gaining valuable experience. This is a paid position, and expenses will also be covered. Any additional hours will be undertaken as desk-based and working from home. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Training on the job well be provided for the right candidate, and no prior survey experience is necessary, but an enthusiasm for learning and wildlife is a must!
Essential
- Full driving licence and access to a car, with business insurance
- Enthusiasm for learning about the natural environment
- Willingness to work unsociable hours
- Excellent time keeping
- Good communication skills
- Good I.T skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- Botanical Knowledge / UK Hab experience
- Previous experience of bat, newt or reptile surveys
- Competency in excel and google systems
