At SLPE, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Graduate Engineer who wants to kick start their career in the renewables energy sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for renewable energy and engineering innovation. As a Graduate Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the design and development of cutting-edge projects within the offshore energy sector, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from industry experts.

We are looking for someone with a mechanical or civil engineering bachelor’s degree or master’s in renewable energy systems or offshore engineering and a passion for renewable energy and contributing to making the world a better place.

You will have a basic knowledge of engineering design software (e.g. Sesam suite and Ansys or equivalent) and a familiarity with industry standards such as IEC and DNV is an advantage.

The role offers a competitive salary of £31,750 per annum dependent on experience.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and refining design concepts for offshore substations and wind turbine components using engineering tools such as Sesam suite and Ansys, or similar software.
- Produce detailed drawings and schematics under the guidance of others.
- Conduct basic calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design proposals and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Support the preparation of design documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, to contribute to project deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions to gain insights and contribute ideas.
- Create project management documentation under supervision of others.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements in the offshore wind energy sector.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for innovation and improvements in design processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution or a Master’s degree or coursework in renewable energy systems, offshore engineering, or a related area is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design software (e.g. Sesam suite and Ansys or equivalent).
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC and DNV is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Information:
This role will be based in either London or Bristol. SLPE currently operates on a hybrid working basis, with staff typically expected to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week. For a Bristol-based candidate, regular travel to SLPE’s main office in central London will be required, for which expenses will be reimbursed.
