We are looking for a Group Finance Accountant to join the Financial Reporting team in London. This will be a dynamic role involving the set up and running of a Group quarterly reporting cycle with a focus on delivery of financial results. The role-holder will also be involved in developing systems, processes and controls to ensure that risks are minimised and processes are scalable as the business grows. Key Contribution Areas
Prepare and review templates and schedules to facilitate the consolidation process including preparation of consolidation journals, elimination and group intercompany reconciliations.
Work with business units to help them through the reporting process and review of their submissions.
Support statutory accounts preparation including completing a technical review to ensure all reporting requirements are met and completing the year-end audit.
Support in the improvement of the financial reporting process in particular to support growing statutory and regulatory disclosure requirements.
Support in preparation of financial results, including completing analytical reviews of subsidiary accounts submissions within strict deadlines.
Working to ensure that any points raised by either internal or external audit are followed up and promptly resolved.
Support the design and maintenance of a Group compliance and internal controls framework encompassing the development and maintenance of the Group Accounting Manual, reporting templates and instructions for all subsidiary businesses.
Support the development of various projects to enhance and develop the consolidation process.
Support in the embedding risk culture and control framework within Group Finance including identification of risks and controls and remedial actions to address all points.
Be flexible and provide support across Finance for all tasks including M&A project work when required.

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required
Required:
Qualified accountant ACA, CA or ACCA
Insurance industry experience
Detailed consolidation experience
Excellent interpersonal skills
Beneficial:
Excellent IFRS knowledge (preferably including IFRS 17 experience), and US GAAP knowledge would be an advantage
Big 4/Top 10 Accounting Practice background with both external audit experience and industry experience
Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) with a strong appreciation of financial systems (e.g. general ledger). Experience of financial systems such as SAP BPC, Workiva, and Tagetik would be an advantage.
