MacGregor Black are partnering with a Leading FMCG Business on the search for a Part-Time Finance Director. This is a remote fixed-term (12 month) contract position based in the United Kingdom, with occasional travel to UK and Germany.
The successful candidate will report and work closely with the CEO, delivering a clear overview of the company’s financial position and leading small finance teams based in both the UK and Germany. This is a pivotal role responsible for all aspects of financial management and leadership you would expect at Finance Director level, supporting the business through a period of growth and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the CEO and senior management team.
- Lead and develop small finance teams across the UK and Germany.
- Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Deliver consolidated financial results and provide regular analysis and insight to drive business performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, audit, and legal requirements in both the UK and Germany.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide oversight of cash flow management, working capital, and cost control.
- Support investment decisions, business cases, and strategic projects.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and controls across the group.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record in a Finance Director (or equivalent senior finance leadership) role.
- Experience of working in or with German entities and financial regulations.
- Background in FMCG, or a related sector strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop small, multi-country teams.
- Excellent financial planning, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to influence strategic decision-making.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
