Role overview:
Deliver effective parts procurement and maximise parts margins across all Activate Accident Repair Group sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the AAR Parts function, ensuring that the right level of resource is always available
- Define and communicate the Parts strategy and structure to the team, ensuring clarity on processes and responsibilities, and that these are consistently adhered to
- Hold all team members accountable for consistently delivering in line with agreed KPIs and promptly address any issues of underperformance
- Work collaboratively with Regional and Bodyshop Managers to ensure that the Parts function is meeting expectations
- Always maintain and drive the ‘One AAR’ mindset within the team
Operational Delivery
- Define and review all parts ordering processes, setting and monitoring SLAs, and continuously driving improved KPI delivery
- Own the automation of parts ordering, receipting and invoicing, working collaboratively with the in-house development team to ensure functional system needs are understood and met, and that any issues are promptly escalated and resolved
- Build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships across AAR operational management teams, delivering a high-quality service, including regular reviews
- Input into the parts elements of customer contract negotiation, ensuring that commercial proposals create value for the Group
Supplier Management
- Ensure that preferred suppliers are continuously reviewed against agreed performance criteria and that necessary improvements and corrective actions are taken to address underperformance
- Negotiate and monitor supplier discounts and SLAs, communicating any changes from contractual agreements
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure consistency of service where the same supplier serves multiple sites.
- Review profitability of all lines to ensure that high margin sales are maximised, encouraged and low margin sales are reviewed to determine how profitability might be improved.
Cost Control
- Review parts data across the Group to identify opportunities to increase margin and drive efficiency, working collaboratively with Vehicle Damage Assessors to ensure the best value solution
- Minimise VOR, Emergency Order and other charges by careful and planned use of parts ordering facilities, without adversely impacting on customer satisfaction
Skills and experience:
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
- Technical knowledge, including experience of the vehicle parts and accessories industry and the supply chain
- Previous similar role responsible for parts procurement in a multi-site environment
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Strong communication skills
- High standards of data accuracy and attention to detail
