Nigel James Associates are delighted to have partnered with a leading, independent financial planning practice based in the Cotswolds to secure a Head of Advice. This is a newly created role for the company as they continue to grow and evolve in providing the best possible service and outcomes for clients. The role will be responsible for leading overall advice for the business with the front office leadership team reporting into you. You will ensure that the end-to-end advice process runs as smoothly as possible to deliver great results.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and support the Head of Financial Planning, Head of Paraplanning, and Head of Administration. Ensure smooth operations within the financial planning, paraplanning, and administration departments.
  • Client Focus: Oversee the delivery of client services and ensure they maintain the highest standards in client satisfaction.
  • Growth-Oriented: Work with the CEO and COO on strategic projects to help grow the business and reach new targets.
  • Compliance: Ensure the business operates in line with FCA regulations and provide guidance to the team to maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Team Development: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching, and foster a positive, collaborative environment within your team.
  • Project work: Lead on various projects including evaluating a potential new CRM system and overseeing IT to ensure technology aligns with advancements, including the use of AI where appropriate.

What’s required?

To be considered for this role, you must have significant experience in managing client service and financial planning teams. A background in financial services is essential, and ideally you would have been a Financial Planner previously, but this is not essential. You should be adept at leading teams, ensuring smooth operations, and driving business growth. You will need gravitas to gain the respect of peers and senior managers in the business. A deep understanding of FCA regulations and a strong track record of working with high-net-worth clients are important. You will be expected to lead a team and oversee the financial planning and paraplanning departments while working closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies. You should have a proven ability to manage and build relationships both internally and externally. This role is designed for an experienced leader who can shape and execute strategy, ensuring clients continue to receive the highest standard of service. Minimum qualification: Level 4; ideally Chartered or with Chartered exams completed.
