We are currently recruiting for a Head of AI Labs to join our established and experienced CDO team at RSA on a hybrid basis.


Your Role

As Head of AI Labs, you will be part of the leadership team within the Chief Data Office, responsible for overseeing Artificial Intelligence initiatives. This includes responsible AI frameworks and processes, AI governance, enhancing our AI capabilities, enabling AI-driven decision making, and fostering a culture of innovation.

You will develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the CDO, the organisation's business objectives, and the CIO operating model.

You will identify and pursue innovative projects leveraging data and AI to drive business value. Your role will drive experimentation through prototypes and proof of concepts by providing sandbox environments, tooling advisory, and accelerators for AI solutions.

You will ensure RSA remains at the forefront by researching and implementing the latest trends in data science and AI, integrating relevant technologies into the lab's projects. You will design, support development, and oversee deployment of ML models.

You will define and manage AI frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies, including establishing central AI governance.

Your role will establish an AI CoE to unify Data, technology, risk, and business functions to achieve AI ambitions and goals, partnering with our parent company to accelerate progress.

You will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, providing senior leadership with recommendations and reports on AI initiatives and usage.


About You

You will have extensive experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI, with an understanding of the insurance business, including commercial and specialty lines.

You will have a strong understanding of responsible AI, Data Architecture, ML, and analytics frameworks, with a passion for staying updated on Data and AI developments.

Experience with Azure, Databricks, ML Platforms, and deploying LLM models in an enterprise environment is essential. Familiarity with tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and knowledge of data engineering and cloud platforms are required.

You will be an experienced leader with excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences. Knowledge of compliance frameworks and ethical AI guidelines is also necessary.
