Role Overview

The Head of Commercial Marine Finance will be responsible for leading the development and expansion of our commercial marine finance portfolio. This newly created senior role offers a unique opportunity to shape strategy, build key relationships, and position the company as a market leader in this specialist sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial marine finance sector, including operators, brokers, shipyards, and professional services.
• Relationship Management: Leverage existing contacts and build strong partnerships with commercial marine clients, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
• Strategy & Growth: Work closely with the Managing Director to set growth targets, develop strategic plans, and introduce new products or services where appropriate.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal underwriting, credit, and operations teams to ensure smooth deal execution and excellent client service.
• Industry Presence: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and reputation.
• Risk Management: Oversee credit quality within the commercial marine portfolio, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Proven track record in commercial marine finance or a closely related asset finance sector.
• Contacts: Established network of industry relationships across the commercial marine market (operators, brokers, shipyards, or related stakeholders).
• Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of asset finance structures, risk assessment, and market dynamics.
• Leadership: Ability to work autonomously at a senior level while contributing collaboratively within a small, highly skilled team.
• Communication: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
