Head of Design (Remote)

Requirements
Creative Leadership & Vision
Set the creative vision and strategy for Magnetic's design department
Ensure all work aligns with client expectations, industry trends, and brand standards
Provide hands-on creative direction for key projects while empowering the team
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Manage, mentor, and develop the UK and Turkey design teams
Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning
Ensure seamless UK/TR team integration and improve internal communication
Operational & Process Management
Oversee workflow management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope
Implement design process improvements, increasing efficiency and effectiveness
Own the design department's resource allocation and recruitment strategy
Client Engagement & Strategy
Act as a creative ambassador for Magnetic, leading client presentations
Collaborate with strategy and accounts teams to align creative work with business goals
Ensure high-level design thinking is integrated into every project pitch
Quality Assurance & Approval Processes
Conduct final design approvals and ensure all assets meet the highest industry standards
Maintain creative integrity across all outputs, balancing innovation with business needs
Establish and uphold clear quality control systems for design deliverables
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay ahead of design trends, AI tools, and industry innovations
Encourage the exploration of new technologies (e.g., motion design, 3D, AI-driven design)
Lead internal training sessions and creative workshops
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a creative agency or similar environment
Design Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere) and Figma. Strong grasp of UX/UI principles and digital design best practices
Leadership & Mentorship: Proven track record of leading and growing creative teams across geographies. Skilled in cross-cultural communication, team development, and fostering a positive, collaborative culture
Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to shape and execute design strategies aligned with broader business goals. Comfortable identifying opportunities for creative innovation
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Confident in presenting to clients and internal stakeholders, and in articulating creative concepts clearly and persuasively
Project & Resource Management: Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experienced in scoping work, estimating timelines, and using tools like Asana or similar for workflow and resource planning
