Location: Hybrid 3 days WFH / 2 days in office or schools (Kettering)

Duration: 3 6 months

Rate: £650 £700 per day (Umbrella)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Start Date: ASAP (immediate availability or up to 1 week notice preferred)

About the Role

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Head of Education Effectiveness & Quality Assurance to provide strategic leadership across Early Years, School Effectiveness, School Governance, and Education Safeguarding.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Education Improvement Framework, ensuring every child and young person in North Northamptonshire has access to high-quality education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategies to drive educational effectiveness for children aged 0-16
  • Oversee school improvement, governance, and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Collaborate with schools, early years settings, and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes
  • Influence and advise senior leaders, stakeholders, and elected members
  • Drive innovation, resource optimisation, and system-led improvement models
  • Lead and inspire a diverse workforce, promoting continuous professional development

Ideal Candidate

  • We are looking for a dynamic and influential leader with:
  • Proven senior leadership experience in Education Improvement/Quality Assurance
  • Strong track record in strategic planning, partnership working, and governance
  • Ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at a national, regional, and local level
  • Knowledge of statutory school improvement duties and the broader educational landscape
  • Excellent financial management and resource planning skills
