Junction provides infrastructure for healthcare organizations, making patient data accessible, actionable, and automated across lab testing and device integrations. Our mission is to use health data to unlock unprecedented insights about health and disease. We’re hiring a mission-driven, technical Head of Engineering to build and lead a high-performing team in a remote-first environment.

What you’ll be doing
- Leading and growing the team: Hire exceptional engineers, set them up for success, and support them to deliver the product roadmap in the most impactful way for our customers.
- Help the team deliver product: Work with the engineering team to keep product progress on track and discuss challenges early to protect engineering time.
- Staying technical: Partner with technical leads and engineers on granular technical decisions, review PRs and RFCs, unblock issues, and tackle hard healthcare problems.
- Strengthen our engineering culture: Champion strong engineering practices, encourage knowledge sharing, develop communication guidelines, and promote ownership and autonomy.
Who you are and learned skills
- Motivations: You are passionate about fixing healthcare. Experience in healthcare (US) is a nice-to-have.
- Technical skills: 5+ years in engineering leadership. You’ve built products for millions at startups scaling teams. Python and Go are preferred, but fluency is not required.
- People-first management: Experience managing 6+ engineers in a remote-first, growing team. You’re a coach with high trust who can hire and grow engineers.
- Team leadership: Experience delivering a product roadmap efficiently and strengthening engineering practices.

- 1 - Initial Call: 30 minutes with our search firm
- 2 - Behavioral interview: 60 minutes with Maitham and Boris
- 3a - Pair programming: 80 minutes (+ 15 minutes intro)
- 3b - System Design: 60 minutes (+ 15 minutes intro)
- In-person time to understand the business with Maitham and Boris
- 4 - Working session with Maitham & Boris
Compensation and benefits
