Head of Enterprise - Art Gallery E-commerce · London

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

We’re working with a pioneering arts organisation to find a Head of Enterprise to launch and lead a brand-new commercial department. This is a rare opportunity to build an e-commerce-first business from the ground up, one that brings world-class art to a global audience through innovative retail and digital strategies.

This isn’t about running an existing shop. It’s about creating one.

This new leadership position will shape the organisation’s enterprise function, with a core focus on Limited Editions: commissioning and selling affordable artist prints (typically priced between £200–£5,000). You’ll build a new team, develop a modern online and offline retail strategy, and collaborate closely with artists, curators, and senior leadership.

From setting up systems and platforms (Shopify, Salesforce) to establishing a clear pricing strategy and market approach, you’ll bring structure, ambition, and a customer-first mindset to a much-loved cultural institution with a global reputation.

You’ll manage two new direct reports and work closely with internal stakeholders, including the programmes and development teams.

Who you are...

We know this is a unique role, and the perfect candidate might not tick every box. That’s okay. We’re open to hiring on potential.

You might be from luxury fashion, e-commerce, art publishing, or creative retail. You’ve likely worked with high-end designers or artists, understand global online audiences, and are comfortable operating in a fast-moving, change-rich environment.

Most importantly, you’re excited to build something from scratch and bring entrepreneurial energy to an ambitious cultural space.

What you'll do...

  1. Lead the strategic development and execution of enterprise initiatives
  2. Manage and grow commercial activities including retail, venue hire, and product development
  3. Develop innovative models for content licensing and publishing
  4. Identify and negotiate high-value partnerships
  5. Collaborate with curatorial and operational teams to align enterprise with core programming
  6. Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across commercial areas

We're looking for...

  1. Proven experience in e-commerce and retail, ideally with both online and in-person activation
  2. A strategic thinker who’s confident using data (Shopify/Salesforce experience ideal)
  3. A natural leader and team builder, with experience managing and growing small teams
  4. Someone who understands luxury audiences and values quality and detail
  5. Excellent stakeholder and partnership management skills
  6. An interest in contemporary art, culture, or design, and a sensitivity to working with artists and curators
  7. Comfortable working 3 days a week on-site in central London

Bonus points if you have...

  1. Startup experience or have launched something new
  2. Background in Limited Editions, art publishing, or art retail
  3. Experience in pricing strategy, logistics, or global online selling

Why apply?

  1. Lead the creation of a new business unit in a globally respected cultural institution
  2. Work alongside a visionary team bridging art, design, and social change
  3. Shape how artists' work reaches audiences around the world
  4. Enjoy real autonomy, creative input, and room to grow

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
