This established and growing financial services group seeks an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Enterprise Risk Management to lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of its Risk Management Framework. This strategic leadership role is central to embedding a proactive and commercially aware risk culture across the organisation. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive and senior leadership teams, ensuring that risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed in line with regulatory expectations and best practice.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Framework Development: Design, evolve, and embed the organisation’s Risk Management Framework in line with regulatory standards and industry best practice.
- Champion a forward-looking risk culture that supports business agility and resilience.
- Provide horizon scanning and scenario analysis to inform strategic planning.
- Risk Governance & Reporting: Lead the development and maintenance of risk appetite statements aligned to business objectives.
- Oversee governance of risk committees, preparing insightful risk reporting and thematic analysis for Board and Executive stakeholders.
- Deliver regular reporting on key and emerging risks, ensuring clear visibility and accountability.
- Partner with business leaders to provide expert risk guidance and challenge.
- Build strong working relationships across the three lines of defence to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Support continuous improvement through training, awareness, and engagement initiatives.
About you / Qualifications
- Proven experience in enterprise or operational risk management within financial services, ideally with exposure to regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance, and regulatory expectations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Commercially minded, analytical, and able to translate complex risk information into actionable insight.
