Interim Head of Finance – North West

Employer: Parkinson Lee Executive Search are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance on behalf of a large, complex public sector organisation in the North West of England. This interim appointment will cover a period of permanent recruitment, and the successful candidate must be available to start immediately.

Location: North West – 2 days per week on site

Day Rate / Package: £550-£650 per day Inside of IR35

The Role

  • Lead financial planning, reporting and analysis to support senior decision making
  • Maintain and develop the Medium-Term Financial Strategy
  • Oversee financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Provide leadership in public sector finance and embed best practice
  • Support transformation programmes with financial expertise
  • Contribute at senior leadership level to organisation-wide priorities

The Person

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA - CIPFA or CCAB highly desirable) with senior-level experience in local government or a comparable public sector organisation
  • Proven track record in a Head of Finance role or equivalent
  • Skilled communicator able to translate complex financial data into clear insight
  • Immediate availability to take on a high-impact interim role
  • Strong, hands on leader with the ability to motivate and develop finance teams
