About the Role

The opportunity arises at a key time for the firm’s growth plans. They are looking for an experienced and driven Head of Financial Planning to lead the development of the advisory team, continue to provide high‑quality advice to clients, and build relationships with professional introducers to support business growth.

This is a key leadership role suited to a senior adviser who wants to take the next step in their career while still actively advising clients. You will play a central role in shaping the future of the financial planning proposition, ensuring excellence in client outcomes, adviser development, and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentor, coach, and support the ongoing development of financial planners across the business.
  • Provide technical guidance, share best practices, and support advisers in improving client outcomes and business performance.
  • Lead by example in upholding compliance standards, ethical conduct, and client‑centric advice.
  • Continue to manage and grow your own portfolio of private clients, delivering holistic financial planning advice across pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning.
  • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention, contributing to the firm’s reputation and growth.
  • Ensure all advice is compliant with FCA regulations and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with solicitors, accountants, and other professional introducers to generate new client opportunities.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, seminars, and professional forums to enhance our presence in the market.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for introducer engagement and acquisition.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (minimum); Chartered or progressing toward Chartered status strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record as a successful financial planner/adviser within a UK regulated environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across all areas of financial planning.
  • Experience in mentoring or developing other advisers (formally or informally).
  • Demonstrable ability to develop professional relationships and generate new business.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • A client‑first mindset, with a focus on long‑term relationships and quality advice.
