About the role

As Head of Group Environmental Strategy and Compliance Assurance, you will lead the development and implementation of Drax Group's environmental strategy across the UK, USA, and Canada. Your responsibilities include setting environmental standards, developing governance frameworks, and overseeing compliance assurance programs.

This role requires a strong understanding of operational processes, environmental governance, permitting, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with some international travel expected.

You will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance on environmental matters, acting as the primary advisor on risks, trends, and opportunities. Additionally, you will oversee governance in key areas such as air quality, emissions, water, and waste, and develop systems for data management and reporting to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Experience in managing regulatory interactions and large-scale compliance programs in industries like Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Construction is preferred. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic skills are also required.
