An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Lead to drive transformation across housing services within a major London borough. This role will shape the delivery of homelessness prevention, private sector housing, and partnership initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes for residents.
Role Overview – Strategic Lead
Lead the delivery of a Homelessness, Temporary Accommodation, and Private Sector Housing transformation programme.
Oversee service redesign to create a customer-focused approach that prevents homelessness and reduces temporary accommodation usage.
Develop and implement strategic partnerships, including a Homelessness Partnership Board.
Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including supported housing re-procurement and housing association nominations.
Ensure compliance with governance, financial, and legal frameworks while embedding equality and transparency.
Key Focus Areas
- Transformation of housing services within budget constraints.
- Integration of Private Sector Housing into the Housing Directorate.
- Delivery of strategic projects to improve housing outcomes and data quality.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive senior management experience within housing or local authority services.
- Proven track record in delivering complex transformation programmes.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and drive service improvement in a politically sensitive environment.
Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Professional or management qualification desirable.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
