An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Lead to drive transformation across housing services within a major London borough. This role will shape the delivery of homelessness prevention, private sector housing, and partnership initiatives, ensuring high-quality outcomes for residents.

Role Overview – Strategic Lead

Lead the delivery of a Homelessness, Temporary Accommodation, and Private Sector Housing transformation programme.

Oversee service redesign to create a customer-focused approach that prevents homelessness and reduces temporary accommodation usage.

Develop and implement strategic partnerships, including a Homelessness Partnership Board.

Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including supported housing re-procurement and housing association nominations.

Ensure compliance with governance, financial, and legal frameworks while embedding equality and transparency.

Key Focus Areas

  • Transformation of housing services within budget constraints.
  • Integration of Private Sector Housing into the Housing Directorate.
  • Delivery of strategic projects to improve housing outcomes and data quality.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive senior management experience within housing or local authority services.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex transformation programmes.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and drive service improvement in a politically sensitive environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Professional or management qualification desirable.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
