THE ROLE

As a Director – Compute, Infra & DevOps Platform Products, you will shape the future of internal tech infrastructure, leading a team to build and evolve the foundational platforms that empower R&D and engineering teams. Your leadership will drive the strategy, architecture, and delivery of cloud-based compute, DevOps, and governance solutions—ensuring the technology stack is as innovative as the science it supports.

Technical tasks

  • Architecting and scaling cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and high-performance computing environments
  • Leading the design and implementation of DevOps platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins)
  • Partnering with engineering and R&D to define technical roadmaps for compute and infrastructure products

Other key responsibilities

  • Managing and mentoring a team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders to align platform strategy with business and scientific goals
  • Contributing to influence industry-wide standards in pharma tech

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A track record of building developer-focused platforms or infrastructure products, ideally with some leadership experience
  • Hands‑on engineering background, preferably as an Engineering Manager or technical lead in cloud, DevOps, or compute environments
  • Deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure), containerization, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code
  • Docker; Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS); Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions; Terraform or CloudFormation; Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic; Slurm, Torque, LSF; MPI; Hadoop or Spark
  • Experience with high-performance computing, distributed systems, and observability tools
  • Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with AI/ML operations is a plus
