We are seeking a Head of Infrastructure to lead NexGen Cloud’s global infrastructure ecosystem. This is a senior leadership role, guiding a highly technical team and driving innovation across our infrastructure landscape.
You will oversee a high-performing global engineering organization, advancing maturity in process design, incident management, capacity planning, and compliance programs.
The ideal candidate brings strategic clarity, process discipline, and evidence-based decision-making to ensure NexGen’s infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and enterprise-ready as the company continues its rapid global growth.
Provide Strategic Leadership
- Lead and develop a global infrastructure organization, setting clear direction, measurable objectives, and high standards of delivery.
- Build alignment, accountability, and operational discipline across distributed teams.
Define and Execute Strategy
- Own the global infrastructure roadmap to deliver scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Translate company objectives into actionable, measurable infrastructure outcomes.
Drive Operational Maturity
- Embed process discipline, documentation and evidence-based decision-making.
- Introduce scalable frameworks for delivery, prioritization and reporting.
Oversee Incident & Risk Management
- Lead critical incident response and recovery, ensuring RCA, transparency and preventative actions.
- Build resilient systems and risk controls that enable predictable operations.
Capacity Planning & Optimization
- Develop proactive capacity planning and forecasting for GPUs, data centers and networks.
- Balance performance, cost, and availability through data-driven scaling strategies.
Ensure Compliance, Security and Documentation Excellence
- Establish and enforce adherence to security policies, standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures and architectural records that underpin reliable, auditable infrastructure operations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and leadership teams to align infrastructure initiatives with business growth.
- Serve as the strategic voice for infrastructure in company-wide planning and execution.
Qualifications & Leadership Attributes
- 7+ years in infrastructure or cloud engineering, including 3+ years in senior leadership roles overseeing multi-disciplinary or global teams.
- Proven success building and /or scaling process-driven infrastructure organizations that balance reliability, cost efficiency and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, setting vision, structure and accountability across technical and operational teams.
- Experience in incident management, capacity planning and compliance governance, with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
- Understanding of datacentre operations, GPU/HPC environments and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible) is a plus.
- Exceptional communicator who builds alignment across the team and simplifies complex technical concepts into actionable strategy.
- A strategic, process-oriented leader who balances innovation with operational discipline, nurturing a culture of clarity, evidence and execution.
This is a remote position, ideally based in the UK or Spain.
