As our Head of IT Services, you’ll take ownership of our IT environments, data centres, and core platforms to ensure they are available, performant, secure, and ready for the future.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, providing direction across infrastructure, networking, security, and service desk operations. You’ll modernise our architecture, embed ITIL best practices, and ensure our services support both the operational and strategic goals of the business.

You’ll be joining our Data & Technology team, a forward-thinking, collaborative group that’s committed to using technology and data to drive real organisational impact.

Role title: Head of IT Services

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Salary: £80,139 - £100,174 (salary dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dartford / Agile

Responsibilities

  • Environments & data centres – Lead the management, capacity, availability, and recoverability of on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring resources are scalable and aligned with business needs.
  • Cyber security & security leadership – Own our cyber security posture, from access controls and authentication to incident response, ensuring robust protection of systems, services, and data.
  • IT architecture & integration – Partner with senior architects and data leads to ensure infrastructure supports seamless system integration and high-performing, resilient platforms.
  • ITIL processes – Define, embed, and monitor ITIL-aligned processes across incident, change, problem, and service fulfilment to deliver consistent, high-quality IT services.
  • Networking & connectivity – Ensure our office, VPN, Wi-Fi, and data centre connectivity services are reliable, secure, and meet the performance needs of the business.

Qualifications & requirements

  • Proven expertise in managing IT environments, data centres, and cloud platforms, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
  • Strong leadership experience in infrastructure, networking, and service management teams.
  • Deep knowledge of ITIL processes and the ability to embed continuous improvement practices.
  • Strategic understanding of IT architecture, systems integration, and enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on experience managing cyber security controls, frameworks, and incident response processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at senior levels.
