Head of Planning

Base pay range: c£100,000 + Bonus & Package (Hybrid working)

We are delighted to appoint a Head of Planning to join a highly regarded residential developer. They produce an excellent product in desirable locations and have significant funds available ensuring quick land approval. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for preparing, submitting and managing a range of planning applications across Northamptonshire and surrounding counties.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the planning process, ensuring that projects are aligned with the company’s vision and values, playing a pivotal role in shaping their land and planning strategy. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering the highest standards of planning and development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the regional planning function, providing expert guidance to secure deliverable land opportunities.
• Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications and appeals, ensuring compliance with planning policy and achieving successful outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, external consultants, landowners, and community stakeholders to facilitate positive planning decisions.
• Work closely with Land, Technical, and Commercial teams to identify and unlock opportunities, de‑risk sites, and deliver schemes in line with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Experienced planning professional (RTPI qualified or equivalent) with a proven track record of securing planning consents for residential‑led developments.
