The Role

As Head of Platform / Cloud Engineering, you will lead a team of five engineers (with headcount set to grow) while ensuring the operational health, scalability, and security of a rapidly expanding Azure-based SaaS infrastructure.

This role will suit someone with a strategic mindset—you don’t need to be fully hands-on day-to-day, but you must have the technical depth to guide decisions, grow capability, and deliver excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and expanding a high-performing operations team with a clear vision for growth.
• Managing Azure environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Prod) for maximum performance & uptime.
• Driving incident response, root cause analysis, and SLA delivery.
• Implementing world-class monitoring, alerting, and automation practices.
• Overseeing security, compliance (ISO27001, SOC2), and cost-optimisation strategies.
• Collaborating closely with Engineering, Product & Support to deliver a reliable, scalable platform.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong Azure knowledge (not necessarily hands-on now, but able to guide and shape strategy).
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• A solution-focused mindset with a passion for growing and mentoring teams.
• Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with Pulumi and advanced Azure services such as App Services, Data Factory, DevOps, and Synapse.
• Development Budget: £1,000+ annually for personal & professional growth
