Are you an experienced operations leader with a passion for building efficient, scalable systems in regulated environments?

We're looking for a strategic and detail-driven Head of Protection Operations to join our leadership team at Loan.co.uk. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the operational backbone of our growing Protection division — ensuring that every process, system, and compliance standard is fit for scale and excellence.This is your opportunity to take ownership of a vital role where operational precision meets customer-centric innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and continuously optimizing all operational workflows to enhance efficiency, minimize risk, and ensure an exceptional customer journey.
• Acting as the division's lead on all regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring full adherence to FCA rules (including Consumer Duty), data protection legislation (UK GDPR), and internal policies.
• Managing the division's technology stack, including the CRM system, and liaising with IT partners to drive improvements and support operational needs.
• Overseeing divisional People processes, including onboarding, policy implementation, and performance management support, in collaboration with our People Team.
• Developing and managing the divisional budget, controlling operational costs, and producing regular performance reports for senior leadership.
• Leading and developing the operational support team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and proactive problem-solving.
• Collaborating closely with the Head of Protection Sales to ensure operational capabilities are fully aligned with and support the sales strategy.

We’re Looking for Someone Who has / is

• 5–7 years’ experience in operations leadership roles within regulated UK sectors – financial services or insurance preferred.
• A strong grasp of the UK’s financial regulatory landscape and hands-on experience managing compliance and operational risk.
• Proven skills in process design, mapping, and automation – with a focus on scaling for growth.
• Experience managing operational teams, budgets, and external providers.
• Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making capabilities.
• Tech-savvy with a solid understanding of CRMs and operational tooling.
• A blend of strategic thinking and executional excellence – you’re as comfortable designing a roadmap as you are rolling up your sleeves.
