Intaso are proud to be partnering with a leading technology & digital services organisation to appoint a Head of Security Operations. This is a pivotal leadership role, driving operational security strategy, overseeing 24/7 defence capabilities, and ensuring the resilience of mission-critical systems in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CISO, you will take full ownership of Security Operations, leading a highly skilled team and working closely with senior stakeholders to protect business assets, customers, and reputation. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a leader who thrives in complex environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Incident Response function.
- Overseeing detection, triage, and remediation of security incidents.
- Owning the operational security roadmap and ensuring alignment with business risk appetite.
- Driving threat intelligence integration and proactive hunting capabilities.
- Managing and optimising security tooling, with a strong focus on Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and Azure security services.
- Building strong relationships across IT, risk, and business functions.
- Acting as an escalation point for major incidents and crisis management.
We’re looking for an exceptional leader with:
- Significant experience managing Security Operations at scale in a high-threat environment.
- Proven track record in SOC leadership, incident response, and threat intelligence.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and Azure security solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, attack techniques, and security tooling.
- Excellent people leadership skills — able to inspire, develop, and retain top talent.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Microsoft Security certifications) are highly desirable.
