Head of Social Impact

RE:GEN Group is in a period of rapid growth and transformation. Having been named the North East’s fastest-growing company in 2024 and recognised as World Class to Work For by Best Companies, they have already proven its ability to combine commercial success with a powerful social purpose.

Our work regenerating homes has gone hand in hand with delivering tangible benefits for local people, from warmer, more sustainable housing to training and career opportunities through the RE:GEN Academy.

The foundations are strong, but this is just the beginning. As RE:GEN expands into the North West, Yorkshire & Humber, and the East Midlands, the business is ready to scale its social impact in line with its growth. The ambition is to define and deliver a clear, connected strategy that not only enhances local communities but also sets new standards for social value in the regeneration sector.

To lead this next chapter, RE:GEN is creating its first Head of Social Impact, a strategic and values-led leader who can turn vision into action and ensure regeneration truly changes lives.

This inaugural role will be instrumental in shaping and driving RE:GEN’s social impact strategy. The Head of Social Impact will forge partnerships with government, clients, and communities, embedding social, environmental, and economic value across operations.

RE:GEN is seeking a dynamic, values-driven leader who thrives on turning ideas into action and sees the potential in every community.

About the role

At RE:GEN Group, we have a clear purpose: to enhance the lives of local people through safe and sustainable social housing regeneration. This goes far beyond carrying out refurbishment, retrofit and new build works on behalf of social housing providers across England; it spans into the leading role we aspire to play in the contribution to inclusive economic growth, particularly for those who are living and connected to the communities we are regenerating.

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Social Impact to lead the development and execution of our long-term Social Impact Strategy across RE:GEN Group and our operating areas.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced and visionary leader to shape and drive our Social Impact Strategy, embedding it at the heart of our business. As Head of Social Impact, you will set the vision and strategic direction for social impact, aligning commercial objectives with wider stakeholder priorities and public procurement requirements.

You will develop and lead a Group-wide Social Impact Framework, oversee the delivery of key projects with tangible outcomes, and advise the executive team on how social impact strengthens long-term growth, reputation, and stakeholder value.

As a thought leader, you will influence policy, industry best practice, and innovation across construction, regeneration, and social housing, ensuring our organisation is positioned as a leader in creating shared value with both commercial focus and social purpose.

You will cultivate strategic partnerships, particularly through RE:GEN Academy and work with housing associations, local authorities, and government to unlock opportunities for communities. Working closely with senior leaders and through RE:GEN Academy, you will unlock opportunities, bridge skills gaps, and create green career pathways.

The role also requires driving impact measurement, transparent reporting, and evidence-based storytelling, while fostering a culture where social value is embedded in decision-making, ESG priorities, and operational delivery.

We seek someone with proven leadership in social impact, regeneration, or ESG, with strong knowledge of UK policy and frameworks, and the ability to translate strategy into measurable, lasting outcomes.

Our offices are based in Sunderland, Wakefield, and Warrington. Nationwide travel is expected.
