Role: Head of Software

Salary: Up to £125,000 + Benefits

Location: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite, Central London)

Immersum is partnering with a pioneering UK business that’s redefining how clean tech is delivered nationwide. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a fast‑scaling software platform and lead a talented engineering team through an exciting phase of growth and innovation.

The Role

As Head of Software, you’ll lead and inspire a growing engineering organisation (approx. 10 people) with three team leads reporting directly to you. You’ll balance strategy with delivery—ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and commercially aligned while fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.

Working closely with Product and senior stakeholders, you’ll shape the long‑term technology roadmap, drive engineering excellence, and enable innovation across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across the software organisation.
• Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing product engineering teams.
• Champion best practice in testing, security, and delivery.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to align technical delivery with business objectives.
• Balance hands‑on technical insight with leadership and coaching.
• Explore opportunities to enhance productivity through AI and automation.

• Proven experience leading software teams in a scaling tech or product‑led environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
