Role: Head of Vendor Management & Partnerships
Location: Remote- with Travel (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: Competitive plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

The Head of Vendor Management & Partnerships is a pivotal leadership role within SCC, acting as a key growth engine for the business. This role is responsible for leading and developing the vendor management team, with a strategic focus on driving incremental pipeline, engaging proactively with Strategic (Tier 1) and Accelerate (Tier 2) vendor sales and channel teams, and working closely with distribution partners to maximise margin opportunities.
The role ensures that vendor strategies are aligned with SCC’s business goals and that the team delivers measurable commercial impact through high-performance execution, strategic alignment, and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities
- C-suite Collaboration : Collaborate closely with SCC’s executive leadership to align vendor initiatives with strategic goals and ensure seamless integration across business units.
- Team Leadership & Development : Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing vendor management team, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions, performance reviews, and co-create personal growth plans.
- Identify and address training needs, ensuring continuous skills development and career progression.
- Vendor Engagement & Investment : Engage with Strategic (Tier 1) and Accelerate (Tier 2) vendors to explore joint investment opportunities, marketing funding, and strategic initiatives. Act as the escalation point for vendor-related issues and opportunities.
- Branch Interlock & Sales Enablement : Drive alignment between vendor managers and SCC branch/account managers to support pipeline generation and customer engagement.
- Facilitate proactive engagement between SCC sales teams and vendor/channel sellers.
- Go-to-Market Strategy & Revenue Growth : Develop and execute growth plans for Strategic vendors and support Accelerate vendor initiatives. Guide the team in implementing go-to-market strategies that deliver incremental pipeline and revenue.
- Business Management & Forecasting : Oversee forecasting of vendor rebates, incentives, and funding streams. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of financial performance, including margin optimization and cost control.
- Support Distribution Relationship Management : Manage relationships with distribution partners to maximize incentives, leverage market intelligence, and optimize commercial terms.
- Operational Excellence : Drive operational excellence across key metrics including sales pipeline acceleration, time entry discipline, project delivery, utilization management, services gross margin recognition, and GP forecasting across the Software BU.
- Technology Strategy : Contribute to the development and execution of technology strategies that align with SCC’s business objectives, ensuring the vendor portfolio supports innovation and market relevance.
- Product & Service Development : Support the evolution of SCC’s software offerings by influencing the development of new vendor-led products and services that meet market demand.
- Research & Development : Encourage innovation within the team and with partners to improve existing technologies and maintain competitive advantage.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work across sales, marketing, finance, and operations to deliver cohesive vendor programs.

- Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of revenue growth strategies, with the ability to analyse and report on vendor performance, including revenue, margin contribution, and rebate forecasting.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders, vendor partners, and executive leadership.
- Negotiation & Relationship Management: Proficient in contract negotiation, conflict resolution, and building long-term strategic relationships.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret market trends, vendor data, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
- Strategic Thinking: Business-oriented mindset with the ability to align vendor strategies to SCC’s broader goals and customer outcomes.
- Operational Discipline: Strong focus on process, compliance, and operational excellence, including rebate tracking, certification compliance, and vendor reporting.
- Technology & Market Awareness: Deep understanding of the software and technology landscape, with

- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges
- Extensive Technology Leadership: Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within the software or IT industry.
- Channel & Vendor Leadership: Proven track record of leading vendor/channel teams within a reseller or vendor environment, with strong commercial and strategic outcomes.
- Software Procurement & Purchasing: Experience in software sourcing, licensing models, and commercial negotiation.
- Vendor Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to engage and influence vendor technology specialists, alliance managers, and senior leaders.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong commitment to delivering customer value through vendor-aligned technology solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to articulate vendor strategies to internal and external audiences.
- Commercial & Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of vendor economics, including rebate structures, margin contribution, and forecasting.
- Strategic Execution: Experience in translating vendor strategy into actionable plans that drive pipeline, revenue, and market differentiation.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in using vendor performance data and reporting tools to inform strategy and optimize outcomes.
