Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as the Health and Safety and EstatesManager where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the effective management of the Bedford and London offices, ensuring both health and safety compliance and optimal estates and facilities operations. This position entails the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System to meet UK regulations while simultaneously managing the estates and facilities function.

The post holder will be responsible for managing lease arrangements, coordinating maintenance programmes, managing corporate contracts, and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a colleague-focused facilities management function. The role is also responsible for planning and coordinating office relocations and estate enhancement works, from workspace planning and lease negotiation to contractor management.

In addition to estates and facilities management, the role requires a strong emphasis on promoting a culture of health and safety across the organisation. The manager will lead the creation and execution of the health and safety strategy, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant with necessary procedures.

Responsibilities also include conducting risk assessments, reviewing incident reports, and chairing the Health & Safety Committee to enhance safety performance. The successful candidate will be pivotal in driving efficiencies, resolving issues proactively, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, thus contributing to a safe and productive work environment for all employees.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
