Main duties of the job
This is not your typical HR Advisor role and were not your typical employer.

Youll have the space and support to build trusted relationships across the organisation, develop your experience in employee relations, lead on policy development, and upskill managers to be confident, capable people leaders. Youll act as a strategic partner to our leadership team while also rolling up your sleeves to get stuck into operational work whether its handling complex ER cases, refining our policies, or improving our HR systems and processes.

About Us
The Confederation, Hillingdon CIC works with General Practice and other healthcare providers to deliver its vision for Hillingdon to deliver the best primary care outcomes for patients in the whole of London. We are a not for profit community interest company. The Confederation works to develop and support individual GP practices, PCNs and Neighbourhoods and their changing needs. We deliver excellent clinical services ourselves both at scale and complementary to General Practice. We are the provider representative voice for local General Practice into the wider NHS and other Partners. We are of the NHS but independent, innovative and transformational.

Job responsibilities
In This Varied And Hands-on Role, Youll Work Closely With The Associate Director Of People And Your Fellow HR Advisor To Support And Strengthen Our People Practices Across The Organisation. Your Day-to-day Will Be a Blend Of Advisory, Operational, And Strategic Work, Including:
- Acting as a trusted partner to managers and leaders, providing clear, confident HR advice on employee relations, performance, and policy.
- Building strong working relationships across the organisation to help embed best practice, consistency, and confidence in people management.
- Leading on complex employee relations cases with professionalism, sensitivity, and pragmatism.
- Supporting the development, communication, and implementation of key HR policies and processes.
- Contributing to our transition to a business partnering model working with dedicated teams to understand their goals and tailor HR support accordingly.
- Collaborating with the HR & Recruitment Coordinator to improve recruitment, onboarding, and general admin processes.
- Supporting and enhancing our use of HR technology (HRIS, ATS) to drive efficiency and data integrity.
- Getting involved in organisational change, from restructures to engagement initiatives.
- Working with the wider team on monthly payroll preparation and process improvement.
- Playing a key role in projects that support culture, performance, and leadership capability across the organisation.
- Staying up-to-date with employment law and HR trends, and bringing insights back into the team to continuously improve how we work.
- Rolling up your sleeves to support your team with day-to-day queries, requests, and practical problem-solving.
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
- Ensure role is performed in line with confidentiality, using good judgement to refer matters to Associate Director as necessary.
- Be flexible in carrying out a variety of tasks, including administration, necessary for effective outputs of a small generalist team
- Foster and maintain strong links with all stakeholders across the PCN and neighbouring networks.
- Explores the potential for collaborative working and takes opportunities to initiate and sustain such relationships.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full CIPD Membership
- CIPD Qualified to Level 5 or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- HR Qualification (as above)
Essential
- Significant and demonstrable generalist HR experience (min 3 years) in a busy, hands on role
- Strong experience in entire range of employee relations casework, including but not limited to, investigations, conduct, performance, restructure, capability, recruitment and selection and occupational health. With ability to coach, equip and enable managers.
- Evidence of consistent CPD and maintenance of employment law knowledge
- Substantial generalist HR experience working across all areas of HR for best practice HR approaches
- Demonstrable experience of working with a dynamic organisation and varying leadership models to successfully develop HR
- Experience of working with and supporting Payroll
- Experience of policy review and development
- Experience of Change Management and engagement of key stakeholders
- Strong HR administration skills and a desire to develop lean and robust processes to support the HR team and service users
- Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen alongside empathy to the needs and developments of our workforce
- Able to work in a matrix organisation with a developing structure and adapt to suit the ever-changing needs of this.
- Good Data analysis skills and able to write high quality reports
- Able to prioritise, multitask and deliver to timeline
- Strong communication skills to support the varying audiences
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Work proactively and have a problem-solving mindset to respond to sudden unexpected demands
- Understanding of, and commitment to, promote equality of opportunity and good working relationships in employment and service delivery and to support and promote this agenda
