HR Business Partner (Deputy to HR Director)
London (Hybrid / Flexible Working) – Permanent – Middlemore are partnering with a highly regarded financial services firm known for a relaxed, collaborative culture and long‑term career opportunities. We’re looking for a strategic, confident, and commercially minded HR Business Partner to act as the number two to the HR Director, taking on significant responsibility and visibility across the business.
You’ll be part of a team of HR professionals, including a strong Centre of Excellence and generalist BPs who handle employee relations. The HR function is on a journey to level up its capability and this role is pivotal in driving that shift. This is a true career opportunity for someone ready to step up and eventually succeed the current HR Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders, influencing and challenging effectively.
- Support the HR Director in leading and developing the HR function.
- Help shape and execute people strategy across talent, operations, reward, performance, and culture.
- Coach and mentor HRBPs to move away from operational delivery and towards strategic partnering.
- Drive consistency and efficiency across HR processes, ensuring “the house is in order.”
- Work collaboratively with the COE and HR admin teams to deliver high‑quality HR support.
We’re looking to speak with candidates who have HRBP experience in either the insurance or the financial services sector. You will have strong business acumen and credibility with senior stakeholders. You will also be confident in challenging, influencing, and driving change.
