Hybrid Integration Architect
As a Hybrid Integration Architect, you will combine technical expertise with leadership skills to design and implement hybrid cloud application modernisation projects for our Public Sector clients. You'll provide architectural guidance, hands‑on technical support, and strategic oversight for migrating existing applications to the cloud and building new cloud‑native solutions. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will help deliver innovative hybrid cloud solutions that solve complex integration challenges, maximise ROI, and drive business success.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement hybrid cloud application modernisation projects, breaking down existing business applications into individual business functions and processes.
- Build, deploy, and integrate new functions and processes independently of the applications and computing platforms on which they run.
- Develop functions and processes to run on software that enables otherwise independent applications to communicate, using Web Services and Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards and specifications.
- Provide architectural, consultative, and engineering support for clients' cloud journeys, tailoring solutions to their specific needs.
- Lead enterprise‑scale transformations from requirements through delivery and production/deployment, ensuring overall solution integrity.
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience working on complex hybrid cloud systems integration projects, designing target cloud solutions and integrating them with on‑premise applications.
- Hands‑on professional with a proven track record of keeping skills up to date, ideally evidenced through recognised certifications.
- Broad experience designing and delivering technical architectures (application, infrastructure, integration, security, and data).
- Strong understanding and delivery experience of cloud‑native architectures and/or serverless solutions.
- Extensive experience using agile delivery methods (Scrum).
- Good understanding of scaled agile frameworks (SAFe, LeSS).
- Ability to work in multi‑supplier teams or as part of a fully internal delivery team.
- Proven leadership and mentoring/coaching experience.
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of automation in development, testing, and operations, including CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience with Java & JavaScript frameworks (Spring Boot, React, Angular, J2EE).
- Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies (Kafka, MQ, IBM Streams, ESBs, ETL).
- Good understanding of enterprise‑level persistence technologies (Oracle, Postgres, DB2, NoSQL, Redis, Graph).
- Experience with estimation methods (top‑down, bottom‑up, planning poker).
- Familiarity with architectural languages/frameworks (UML, Zachman, TOGAF).
