We are pleased to be partnered with a leading environmental consultancy group to find an experienced corporate solicitor to join their expanding in‑house legal team as Legal Counsel.
Reporting into the General Counsel, you’ll play an important role in providing expert legal counsel, guidance, and support on various corporate projects, with a focus on M&A activity. The organisation has ambitious growth plans and is looking for an experienced and professional solicitor who can represent the business through this exciting next chapter.
Responsibilities
- Offer expert legal advice and support to stakeholders, both internal and external, on corporate‑related matters, including UK and international work.
- Oversee M&A processes to facilitate the company’s growth plans, often working collaboratively with the General Counsel and M&A team.
- Conduct thorough legal due diligence and risk assessments to identify strategic expansion opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive forward successful outcomes, including instructing external counsel appropriately.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years PQE in corporate law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm and/or in‑house legal department.
- In‑depth knowledge of managing high‑quality M&A work.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced commercial environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
- Adept at developing commercial solutions to complex legal issues.
- Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to a variety of stakeholders across the Group.
You’ll be joining a team of talented legal professionals who work cohesively to support an innovative company within a purposeful and growing sector. The team is based in or around the North West and aims to meet together a few times a week.
