New Today
Are you an experienced intellectual property lawyer seeking a short-term Partnership opportunity with a distinguished firm?
Entering as a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to build a leading commercial IP team in the Edinburgh market, taking on exceptional work in an award-winning environment.
The rapid growth, highly respected brand and clear progression make this one of the most compelling and lucrative opportunities in Scotland for an ambitious intellectual property lawyer.
The Firm
A truly standout company in the UK legal landscape, this firm achieves the rare balance of performing the highest quality of work with the best clients, whilst retaining an excellent working culture and work-life balance for its staff.
This innovative and multi-award-winning firm has expanded rapidly across the UK in recent years. In part, this is due to their ability to produce results for their prestigious client base. However, it is also due to the significant focus management places on hiring the best legal talent and ensuring staff flourish.
Rarely in firms operating at this level does a culture of approachability and supportiveness permeate from top to bottom. Collaboration is at the heart of the working model, and Partners willingly give up their time to train and mentor more junior team members.
Many of the lawyers have received individual recognition for their expertise, including from the Hot 100 and the Legal 500 Hall of Fame. It is a hotbed for rising stars and the ongoing professional development is a major selling point and one reason why staff stay at the business for such long durations.
Clients range from high-net-worth individuals to some of the largest multinational companies operating globally. Staff are exposed to the highest quality work across a range of jurisdictions and are supported to provide an industry-leading service by some of the most highly regarded legal minds in the UK.
If you are an ambitious and motivated professional who is seeking to work for one of the pre-eminent law firms in the country, this is a truly unparalleled opportunity. You will be able to develop a depth of expertise which could see you ascend to the top of the legal profession in your chosen practice area.
The Role
Working with this Legal 500 Tier-1 ranked national team, you will gain exposure to an incredible range of commercial and IP work, including drafting and advising on franchise agreements, distribution and agency agreements, media contracts, sponsorship agreements and structuring IP portfolio protection, collaboration agreements, R&D and more.
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting and innovative commercial clients in the market, both in the UK and internationally. These clients span every sector and size, and each presents a unique set of challenges, making for a role which is inherently varied and stimulating.
This role is best suited to someone with a generalist commercial contracting and IP background who is comfortable in a transactional environment. You will be able to develop strong networks with clients, identifying and acting on business development opportunities that you create, as well as leaning into an exceptional existing pipeline.
