Overview
Our client is a high growth, international business based in London. With extensive M&A activity, organic growth, and ongoing transformation, they are seeking a Group Accountant on an interim basis to lead the group consolidation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the group consolidation (complex, multi-currency)
- Coordinate the group’s subsidiary external audits
- Coordinate with external accounting providers monthly to provide information required for local reporting needs
- Prepare subsidiary financial statements’ GAAP reconciliations with IFRS or review those prepared by external firms
- Perform analytical review of significant account balances, monitor movements, report, and liaise with the accounting group and other stakeholders (incl. Tax department) on proper application of accounting policies
- Identify ongoing opportunities for better utilization of accounting systems, downloads, interfaces, and other process automation tools to improve the close and consolidation process
- Assist with preparation of related footnotes for inclusion in the annually audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under IFRS
- Perform special ad‑hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant – ACA or ACCA preferred; CIMA and other qualifications considered with the right experience
- Direct experience performing consolidations, not just reviewing them
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with a proactive approach to getting things done
- Demonstrable technical accounting ability
- Capability to cope with messy or very manual consolidations
- Ideally involved in systems implementations, particularly consolidation and reporting tools
Contract: 6 months, 2‑3 days per week in the London office, pay £350‑400/day inside IR35.
