Interim Head of Commercial Finance | Media Business — London/Hybrid. Harmonic are working with a fast-growth business in the Media & Entertainment industry, headquartered in Central London. The role is a 6-month contract.

The Role

Interim Head of Commercial Finance will act as the primary financial business partner to senior leadership across the Commercial & Revenue function. Reporting into the CFO, you’ll oversee financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cost management. You’ll manage and develop a team of 4, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the commercial team has the insights and analysis needed to make data-led decisions. This is a hybrid role (2 days per week in the office) based in Central London.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted financial partner to executive stakeholders, providing strategic analysis and insight to influence decision making
• Lead the team in delivering accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, and management reporting
• Own the financial planning and analysis process for revenue flows and distributions, ensuring alignment with long-term business strategy
• Provide financial assurance presenting results and key insights to relevant boards and stakeholders
• Deliver analysis of performance trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and controls, in collaboration with wider Finance teams
• Manage and develop a team of 4
• Represent finance in key commercial negotiations and cross-functional projects

What We Need to See (Essential)

• Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting at a senior level
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in business partnering senior stakeholders
• Track record of managing and developing finance teams
• Advanced Excel and reporting tool skills
