Interim Head of Finance (Exit Readiness) — Central London | Hybrid — ASAP Start

This is a seriously exciting interim role. If you have experience of helping a finance function get ready for an exit, then please apply. We mean from an accounting setup and data perspective — someone technically strong and hands on.

We’re looking for an experienced Interim Head of Finance / Financial Controller to support a brilliant CFO and team through an exit-readiness process. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role at the centre of finance — blending reporting, reconciliation, data, and commercial insight. You’ll take ownership of preparing the business for due diligence, ensuring every number stacks up and every assumption stands firm. The goal: a single, simple and reliable source of financial truth the CFO, board, and investors can depend on.

This is a global, high-growth business operating in the sub £100m turnover space.

What you’ll be doing

• Setting up a finance function for exit – ensuring financials are due diligence ready.
• Reconcile and cleanse data across statutory accounts, management reporting, and underlying systems.
• Lead balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls reviews.
• Oversee process and audit reviews to strengthen governance.
• Validate messy or inconsistent datasets and prepare them for audit.
• Partner with internal finance, data, and FP&A teams, plus external advisors.
• Help the CFO shape a clear, confident financial story ahead of the exit.

What we’re looking for

• A qualified accountant (ACA or audit-trained preferred).
• Experience preparing a finance function and business for sale.
• Strong financial reporting and reconciliation background.
• Solid exposure to exit-readiness, M&A, or due diligence.
• Advanced Excel and strong systems skills (Adaptive, Power BI, Sage, etc.).
• Comfortable structuring complexity and communicating clearly.
• Hands-on, commercial, and calm under pressure.
