Key Responsibilities of the Interim Head of HR/OD change
- Provide strategic leadership for HR Business Partners and Advisory services, ensuring service improvement and transformation are at the heart of delivery
- Work closely with the Director of Workforce Change to review and implement phase 2 of HR/OD restructure, including drafting job descriptions and supporting engagement and consultation
- Lead major organisational change programmes, including restructures, redundancy, TUPE transfers, and policy consultations
- Manage relationships with Trade Unions and support our Social Partnership approach
- Deliver complex HR advice and guidance on workforce planning, organisational design, equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Ensure proactive employment advisory services, mitigating risks and supporting senior leaders through change
- Act as a senior advisor on high-risk cases and industrial relations issues, including employment litigation in partnership with Legal
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Head of HR/OD Change
- Degree‑level qualification and/or CIPD (Level 7)
- Extensive senior HR/OD experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally within local government
- Proven track record in leading organisational change, shaping TOMs, and delivering workforce transformation.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices across the employee lifecycle and experience managing Trade Union relationships
