Interim HR Director / HR Consultant (3 months)

Location: London, France, or Sweden (Hybrid / Flexible across sites, Remote also optional)

Contract: 3 months (with potential extension)

We are seeking an experienced Interim HR Director / HR Consultant to support a leading international media and subscription business through a period of strategic transformation. This is a confidential appointment at a critical stage in their growth, following the acquisition of a major European competitor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on harmonisation of employment contracts across multiple jurisdictions (France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK), ensuring consistency and fairness in benefits and terms.
  • Evaluate HR resources and roadmap, identifying gaps in technology, shared services, and support functions to enable scalable growth.
  • Manage the integration of circa 200 employees (c.100 from France and 100 from the acquired business) into the existing group structure.
  • Partner with local HR teams to ensure compliance with French HR frameworks, German employment law, Swedish regulations, and Dutch pension requirements.
  • Balance strategic input with hands-on delivery, ensuring acquisitions and integrations are executed smoothly.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Significant HR leadership experience within international, multi-site organisations.
  • Proven expertise in harmonising contracts and benefits post-acquisition.
  • Strong working knowledge of French HR practices (essential), plus experience with German, Swedish, and Dutch employment issues.
  • Pragmatic, strategic, and hands-on approach — not a “Head of HR” role, but a senior-level consultant who can drive outcomes.
  • Available to commit for 3 months (with possible extension).
