Medlock Partners are delighted to be partnering our client, a large successful UK business based in the Liverpool area, as they look to appoint an Interim Group Management Accountant following an increased workload and a series of exciting projects.

Reporting to the Head Of Commercial Finance, the Interim Group Management Accountant will take full responsibility for supporting operational and financial management through reporting, forecasting, analysis and management of financial performance, whilst looking to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounting

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts journals and analyses, working directly with divisional and other colleagues and as an important member of the Management Accounts Team.
  • Preparation of quarterly forecast and annual budget journals and analyses.
  • Support divisional departmental managers in managing their financial budgets.
  • Support operational teams in producing financial reports and associated financial analyses, exceptions reporting, reporting trends and performance indicators.
  • Improve and develop the quality and efficiency of financial/management information required throughout the business.
  • Any other responsibilities deemed suitable to the role and where trained to do so

Projects

  • Alongside other team members, support the finance transformation and SAP upgrade projects, including but not limited to reviewing and testing changes made in the SAP environment and supporting with the implementation of changes to existing processes / reporting etc.
  • Help document processes to facilitate more effective team hand-overs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the improvement and development of the quality and efficiency of financial/management information required throughout the business.
  • Provide assistance with continuous improvement projects alongside the finance transformation project.
  • Support other ad hoc projects as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Proven Management Accounting experience within a large complex business
  • Well developed communication skills, with experience of translating financials for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to be adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving setting.
  • Experience of multitasking with excellent prioritisation skills.
  • Ideally experience in manufacturing or logistics.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also independently where required.
  • Solid IT skills; SAP knowledge is advantageous but not essential (training will be provided).
  • Proficiency in process mapping tools is advantageous but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Management Accountant with a proven track record of producing insightful management information within a larger complex business. Working knowledge of SAP (or similar) will be beneficial (not essential).
