We are urgently recruiting freelance interpreters to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.

Established in 2001, Language Empire provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK. With over 20 years of experience, we cover hundreds of languages and dialects. We are currently recruiting for:

• Telephone Interpreters
• Translators

Please note this is a self-employed position

The Job

Interpreting involves listening, understanding, and memorizing content in the source language, then reproducing it into the target language with 100% accuracy.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health, and local government services
• Check the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence
• Conduct conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
• Handle highly confidential information
• Liaise between the service user and provider

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language
• Right to work in the UK
• Age 21 or over
• Qualifications such as:
  • Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
  • Community Interpreting
  • NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
  • Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
  • Other interpreting-related qualifications
