We are seeking a highly skilled iOS Developer to join our dynamic team working on the NHS App project. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining features for the iOS version of the NHS App, ensuring a seamless, performant, and user-centric experience for millions of users across England. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including designers, product managers, infrastructure specialists, and testers to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in iOS development, with a strong background in Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode. You should have a solid understanding of iOS design principles, interface guidelines, and architecture patterns such as MVVM. Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/delivery pipelines, and troubleshooting/debugging is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and develop high-quality, scalable solutions for the NHS App's iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Create and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and quality.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize solutions for performance and speed to enhance user experience.
• Ensure the application complies with Apple App Store requirements and guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to implement consistent, intuitive, and visually appealing interfaces.
• Support and troubleshoot features in production, ensuring stability and performance.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest iOS development trends, tools, and best practices.
• Apply SOLID principles and MVVM architecture to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Implement and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines, embracing a DevOps mindset.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues within your domain, including debugging and performance improvements.
• Utilize native OS features such as push notifications, HealthKit, and App Intents to enhance app functionality.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs to connect with backend services efficiently.
• Handle concurrency effectively to ensure smooth background tasks and network operations without UI blocking.
