Astrum Search is supporting a leading national infrastructure organisation in the recruitment of an IT Internal Audit Assistant Manager to join their London head office. This role will play a key part in ensuring the governance, risks, and controls framework that underpins the safe and efficient running of critical services. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and the wider Internal Audit team to deliver coordinated assurance to the Audit & Risk Committee. This is a unique opportunity to influence decisions that shape the future of a nationally significant organisation.

Location: London (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading IT audits from planning through to reporting, ensuring projects are delivered to time, budget, and quality standards
  • Reviewing audit work to ensure clarity, accuracy, and actionable outcomes
  • Presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders, strengthening governance, controls, and risk management frameworks
  • Acting as a trusted business partner at governance meetings, raising the profile of Internal Audit
  • Managing resources effectively, including working with co-source partners to deliver efficient assurance
  • Contributing to strategic workstreams, ad hoc projects, and initiatives that enhance the function’s impact

Skills & Experience

  • Strong IT audit expertise, ideally covering ITGCs, cyber security, and project assurance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise reports
  • Proven ability to engage and challenge senior stakeholders effectively
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with data analytics experience an advantage
